Configuring Mitup Bot
¶
This guide explains all the settings available in Mitup and how to configure them through Telegram. Proper configuration ensures you get the best experience when organizing and participating in meetings.
Accessing Settings
¶
To access your settings, open the Mitup bot in Telegram and navigate to the main menu. Tap the Settings button to view all available configuration options.
Language Settings
¶
Mitup supports multiple languages, allowing you to use the bot in your preferred language.
How to change language:
- Go to Settings
- Tap
Language
- Select your preferred language from the list
Once set, all bot messages, buttons, and notifications will appear in your chosen language.
Timezone Settings
¶
Setting the correct timezone ensures that all meeting times display accurately for you.
How to set your timezone:
- Go to Settings
- Tap
Timezone
- You can set your timezone in two ways:
- Send a text message with your city or location name
- Share your current location using Telegram's location feature
Mitup will use this timezone to display all meeting times. This is particularly important when joining meetings created by users in different timezones.
Notification Settings
¶
Mitup can send reminders before your meetings start so you don't miss them.
How to configure notifications:
- Go to Settings
- Tap
Notifications
- You'll see two options:
- Enable/Disable: Toggle notifications on or off
- Notification Time: Set how many minutes before a meeting you want to be notified
By default, Mitup notifies you 5 minutes before a meeting starts, but you can adjust this to suit your needs.
Timeout Settings
¶
The timeout setting determines how long a meeting remains active in your list after it ends.
How to set timeout:
- Go to Settings
- Tap
Timeout
- Enter the number of minutes you want meetings to remain active after they end
When the timeout period expires, meetings automatically move to your past meetings list. You can always reactivate past meetings if needed.
Default Meeting Options
¶
These settings determine the default configuration for new meetings you create. Each time you create a meeting, these settings will be pre-selected (though you can modify them for individual meetings).
How to configure default meeting options:
- Go to Settings
- Tap
Default Options
- Toggle each option according to your preference:
Waiting List
¶
This option allows people to join your meeting even when it's full. Participants will automatically be added to a waiting list and moved to the active list when spots become available.
Public
¶
Enabling this option allows anyone who receives your meeting invite to share it with others, helping you reach a wider audience.
Open Invitations
¶
With this option, participants can add friends to the meeting even if those friends aren't on Telegram.
Incognito
¶
This privacy feature hides the participant list when your meeting is shared, showing only the total number of participants. As the creator, you'll still see the complete list of who has joined.
Show Timezone
¶
This option controls whether timezone information appears in meeting messages. When disabled, both the timezone information and the timezone button are hidden from meeting messages.
Privacy Settings
¶
Privacy settings help you control your personal information within Mitup.
How to access privacy settings:
- Go to Settings
- Tap
Privacy
- Adjust the available options according to your preference
You can modify these settings at any time through the Settings menu in the Mitup bot. If you have questions or need assistance, use the Help option from the main menu.
